Our aim is to take Darkfall Online and make it reach its potential as a complete empire building game where sandbox features and PvP are just tools to an end. We are not making a simulation or a gankbox, but are striving for meaningful choices and long term appeal. At its core, Darkfall: New Dawn is about risks versus rewards and accepting the consequences of one’s choices. Whether in combat, diplomacy or day to day activities.

But in order to translate this goal into reality, we need to work from the root up.
Empires need citizen and a motivation to exist. This means that there needs to be content for a wide variety of players and a working economy to motivate wars.
Darkfall: New Dawn will need to be a great PvE game, it will need to be a great sandbox, it will need to have full loot PvP and be a harsh virtual world. All those will be means to an end rather than the purpose of the game.
The purpose being that Darkfall: New Dawn players should be immersed in the world, its player run political intrigues and see how their personal actions impacts and gets impacted by the player factions around them.
Darkfall: New Dawn is all about meaningful choices and long term appeal.
